Why this piece is awesome: I love the strength of this artwork, with Aquaman's tattoos and armour, and the red area behind him adds to that. I really wanted as well to introduce Pulvis to you if you don't already know their work as it's really great, with clean lines, great colour and strong, dramatic design elements.

Why this piece is awesome: This is an interesting hybrid. It certainly looks like the Jason Momoa Aquaman (the old one was blond, white and short-haired) but the outfit is the old Aquaman's. Not sure of it's a deliberate mish-mash of incarnations of Aquaman or if the artist didn't bother researching the new costume and tatts. Whatever, it's a very proficient watercolour and I like the pose and the details. Click-enlarge the pic to see them properly.

Why this piece is awesome: Apologies for falling behind with the recs - Inktober's been very time consuming! Anyway, I'm catching up now and will be continuing reccing Aquaman art through November. I like this one as it's different to most Aquaman art - most people draw him in a heroic or menacing pose, glowering out of the picture. But in this one he's underwater, lying back on the bottom of a shallow sea, just chilling with his fish and turtle buddies. I like how his hair's moving in the water, and the sun on the water not far above, shining down. I like to think the water's tropically warm.

Why this piece is awesome: Very exciting! Aquaman art this month, so it's all Jason Momoa all the time, yay! He's awesome enough, but this is also a great artwork, with the swirling colour, shapes and special brushes used being perfect to show Aquaman in his element. A gorgeous way to start the  month.
