Why this piece is awesome: I like the combination of armored strength and flowing motion, the almost contemplative tilt of the figure's head in the midst of a flying escape, the way he holds a weapon over his heart as if taking a pledge. There's a bit of the superhero in this portrayal, unusual in SG-1 fandom but not surprising given that one of the artist's other fandoms is DCU, and it's refreshing and fun and perfectly appropriate to the character.
