about those open posting periods...
My recent poll showed some interest in allowing open posting periods.
The way I've decided to try this, is to open rec posting during the last week each month, starting with the regular reccer recruiting post, which I usually post a week before the month ends. There was the suggestion that prompts (like themes, styles, techniques etc.) might help to inspire recs, so I'll give a prompt in that admin post too, however that will be optional for the open recs, just a way to make people think of art they might want to rec. Regular reccers who have claimed a month can of course also continue to post their recs during this period. The first three weeks of each month remain exclusive to those who claimed a month to rec the fandom of their choice, so 3/4 of the time this comm will still follow the Crack Van model.
Recs posted during the open reccing period still have to conform to the usual rec format and follow the rules for what is allowed to be recced here.
The setting of the comm will have to change to allow all members to post during all times, because there is no bulk permission editing, so allowing all members to post when they couldn't previously means switching all ticky boxes by hand, and I'm not doing that more than once, certainly not twice a month. However you should still only post if you signed up, or during the open reccing periods.

Personally I really like the dependable kind of reccing schedule method better (well, somewhat dependable, unfortunately some people always drop out despite signing up), but the comm could really use some uptick in posts. Ideally I would like to have at least a post every day on average, i.e. about seven or eight people reccing.
