Whistling Past the Graveyard by X (NSFW, just to be on the safe side)
Fandom: Angel: the Series
Characters/Pairing: Angel/Lindsey
Content Notes/Warnings: swoony naked embrace; no dangly bits
Medium: Digital
Artist Website/Gallery: http://www.tenebris.org/x__art/
Why this piece is awesome: Oh, shit, Lindsey. There's no way I can read this but as his dream, way down in the mineshaft of his Id where I'm not supposed to see, where I'm not allowed, where maybe not even Lindsey himself can see. But that's what he wants out of Angel, right there in ruthless colour, and I do not mean the porn and the nakedness; those are practically irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. I mean the want. The expression on Angel's face. He wants to matter, he wants to be that important, and sometimes, painfully briefly, he even thinks he is, but he never will be. Joss fucking Whedon, man. It's all right there on the show, under their clothes. I don't even parse this as porny slash. It's pure character study. On a technical note, I love the way the lighting emphasizes Angel's paleness. That's clever.
