Why this piece is awesome: A talented artist will use charcoal to play up the shadows and add dimension to the piece. This specific fanart is, first of all, gorgeous and wonderfully detailed. Secondly, I like the background--since it hints at pop art and it's incredibly fitting for someone like Gerard Way. Finally, the B&W enhances and sharpens the end piece. Really worth a look for anyone who likes portrait art.
