Why this piece is awesome: I'm struck by the lonesome mood in this picture of an armored Jaffa kneeling on a rise at nightfall in sight of an active gate, and by the point of view. Maybe because he's not aiming his armed staff weapon at the gate, and because he's apparently alone, he reads more as an honor guard to me, or a ronin, or the single warrior left behind to keep vigil? There are hints of story here, at any rate, and I love that. The muted shine of the armor, the event-horizon light on the grass, the wild stormy sky, and the smudgy rounded style all appeal to me too.
