Why this piece is awesome: Beautiful, haunting atmosphere. Rose's shield -- translucent, crystalline, and glowing -- is a spot of vivid pink in an otherwise somber and muted battle scene, and the way the different light sources interact with the figures and the ground is so effective. A bit of sketchiness in the lineart only adds to the sense that our heroines have been roughed up by whatever they just went through.
