Why this piece is awesome: The blending and lighting is delicious, the figures' skin glows; the wild abandon suggested by the motion of Vala's hair plays beautifully against the muscular strength of her grip on Daniel's hair. The monochrome coloring gives the piece a smoky passion and the tactile feel of a work rendered in chalk and charcoal. A good job of photomanipping forms the base for a striking piece of art -- dramatic and flowing, romantic, a tension of smooth curves against rough texturing.
