Why this piece is awesome: This month on Tumblr is "Hermit-a-day May" so I am going to try to do a recs version of it here! Day 1 is VintageBeef, who spent much of last season sequestered away on a desert island working on his masterwork, but since he finished and emerged he became one of my favorites. This season, he has found himself somehow acting as the agent of a powerful Canadian fish mafia. I love this art because, while it's not much like everyday Beef, the expressiveness of it does a great job of capturing that exact feeling of made-man-in-over-his head. He's not the big boss, and he's not a capo, but he's not not a capo, and he's not sure he'll survive it but he's going to break as many legs as he needs to along the way. That might seem like a lot to capture in a simple cartoon drawing but this one does!
