Why this piece is awesome: It's a really striking piece in which the cuteness factor, i.e. the cat ears, is less cartoon-y than expected. I like the dark hues, the position of Mikeyway's head (he's looking off to the side) and how kinetic the overall fanart is.

I'm doubly impressed by the tool the artist used (a spatula instead of a brush) because there's a certain delicate hand in the overall effect. Very, very cool piece. :D!

It really is, isn't? I think part of the appeal is that Mikeyway's cat ears are 'mundane' rather than extraordinary. :)
