Why this piece is awesome: It's always nice to see fanart done in a more unusual technique and scratch board is something I don't think I've ever seen used before. The artist definitely knows how to use its properties to the best effect in this wonderful portrait of Party Poison. Like in the wavery effect of the hot desert air and in the stark contrast between the strong sunlight and the clearly delineated shadows. Another work that I think deserves to be more widely known.

What drew me in the hardest was the absence of colour. Somehow, that's what makes this piece stand out so much.

Though, yeah, all the details (like the wavery effect you mention) bring it to a whole new level.

I didn't think of that, but yes, the lack of colour definitely adds a lot to the impact.
