This month I'll be reccing art for an old 80s anime that will forever be one of my fannish favourites, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, or as it was known in the US, Ronin Warriors. The American dub changed many of the names, but I've only ever seen the sub so in these recs I will be using the original names.

Why this piece is awesome: I was very happy when I stumbled across this work in my search for YST art. It's wonderful to see that there are still new works being done for this decades old anime.

I love the skillful way the artist has captured the different Troopers and the subtle use of colours. And Byakuen's grumpy expression as he lets them snooze against him is adorable. Such a sweet and happymaking work.

I haven't seen it in ages, but it was a favorite of mine in high school. :)

You might want to check out pentapus's journal if you aren't already familiar with it; they occasionally post YST/RW stuff, including some very cute art.

I didn't discover it until I was an adult and now I rewatch it regularly :-)

I know their name from the YST tag on AO3 but I don't think I've ever looked at their journal.
