Why this piece is awesome: This is such a lovely rendition of the scene in The Exploits of Moominpappa when they watch the sun set, after Oshun Oxtra had reached the sea. It almost feels like an illustration by Tove herself, the quiet, thoughtful mood, the clear lines, and the characters looking out over the sea, turning their backs towards the viewer.

Thank you for all these Moomin recommendations
I didn't know that there was Moomin fanart; it had never occurred to me to go looking. Although of course, of course, of course. As an American child, without the animated series or toys or even comics, there were just these lovely neglected books in the library that it seemed no one else read... I made my own action figures out of clay. ;-) So, yes, of course!
Thank you.
Re: Thank you for all these Moomin recommendations
I'd no idea there were Moomin fanart either. It was quite a revelation discovering the Moomin section on DeviantART :-)
I'm old enough to only have had the books when I grew up. A couple of collections of the comic she did together with her brother was issued when I was in my teens, but animation and toys and new comics all happened long after I'd grown up.
Making your own Moomin figures in clay sounds awesome. You don't happen to have any photos of them, do you?
Re: Thank you for all these Moomin recommendations
I'm afraid that my clay Moomins and cardboard Moominhouse were long, long ago, before digital photography. I don't think that it ever occurred to my parents to spend film on such things. :-) I know that my cardboard Moominhouse was thrown away (this was before recycling, too) when we moved. I don't actually know what happened to my Moomintroll and Snufkin and Little My; they may have been lost in that same move.
Thank you so much for asking! It's a happy memory!
