Why this piece is awesome: I love pretty much everything this artist does. I first found them through Doctor Who but it's in the fairytale and fantasy inspired works they really shine. Their skillful use of coloured pencils gives a wonderfully luminous quality to the rich, jewel-like colours of their works, greatly helped by the coloured and textured paper they often use.

This particular work is probably my favourite of theirs. The warmth and cozyness between Mumintrollet & Snusmumriken at their camp fire, the blue depths of the forest, and the twinkling of the stars among the branches, it all adds up to a deeply lyrical work. Full of magic.

Why this piece is awesome: I love the early 1950s feel of this work. The bold, geometrical shapes and the way they constrain and complement each other. The way the textured paper works with the blocky colouring. It would look perfect as an illustration in one of the books!

Why this piece is awesome: TThis is a wonderfully eerie work, quite different from the usual sort of Moomin art. I particularly love the moody colouring and the way the illumination from the lightning makes hattifnattarna look both insubstantial as well as tangible.

Why this piece is awesome: This is such a happymaking work. They all look so content, lazing around in the shade. Well, except Lilla My who seems to be studying a toad and Hemulen who's of course collecting flowers. The whole scene puts me in mind of the trip to the Hattifatteners Island in Finn Family Moomintroll, one of the summer-iest books I know.

I also love the unusual perspective and the way it gives you the opportunity to see the characters from a new and suprising angle. It took me quite a while to notice Snusmumriken for example.

Why this piece is awesome: This is a magical work. I love the velvety black sky with its myriad of stars and how the mist shrouds the ground in mystery. Also the way the light from the comet in the sky and the camp fire on the ground highlights the silhouettes of Mumintrollet and Snusmumriken.

Why this piece is awesome: This has such a lovely, dreamy quality. I love the soft, earthy colours. It's a little melancholic with the mist and bare trees, the year turning towards winter and Snufkin ready to travel South, away from the Valley.
