Why this piece is awesome: This the cover for a magazine that does not exist. Looking at careful design and interesting pose makes me wish that it did. I enjoy seeing Neu in a more realistic style than in the anime.

bardsley: Three beautiful women dance. (Weiss Kreuz: Farfarello Restrained)
[personal profile] bardsley
Fandom: Weiss Kreuz
Characters/Pairing/Other Subject: Farfarello
Medium: Digital Art / Photomanipulation
Artist Website/Gallery: Deviantart
Why this piece is awesome: I like anime, but tend to think of it as a world unto itself. It has its own set of physical laws visible in the differences between how things move and how people look in the anime world versus the real world. Because of the seeming separateness of these two worlds, I never tried to imagine the way that anime characters would look in real life… until I saw this manip. At the time, I did not know who Jonathan Rhys Meyers was. Looking at this photo was simply seeing Farfarello’s pretty, scarred face staring out at me from the darkness. I should probably say something intelligent about the use of light and shadow here, but really, just look at the picture. You won’t regret it. (Icon is the anime Farfarello, for reference and prettiness.)
