Why this piece is awesome: It's called House of the Dragon, so here we go, a dragon! This is an amazing manip in Photoshop - the final result is clearest in DA and you can click through a couple of times to enlarge it. You can also watch the pic being created in the accompanying YouTube video. It's dramatic and impressive even if the topic's chilling, and the artist's technical skills with Photoshop are extraordinary.

Why this piece is awesome: Sneaking this one in as it's still August in many parts of the world. A final worldbuilding pic - Casterley Rock, painted before the TV series, and we don't really see The Rock in the series so interesting to see one artist's idea of how it might look. I like the detail and how it's both pretty and impregnable. I imagine the rock as being full of secret tunnels and chambers, not nearly as lovely as the outside.

Why this piece is awesome: I love the imagination fanartists bring to rendering the places in a canon like Game if Thrones. This is a spooky and powerful rendition of what Dragonstone might look like (created before the TV series, so a different take on it). Literal world-building.

Why this piece is awesome: I love the moment that's been caught here, with Brienne dominant and Jaime being a brat, as usual. Love the loose brushstrokes and the depth of colours, especially the green in Brienne's armour and hair. The dynamic in this pic is absolutely perfect as an illustration for Astolat's GoT stories.

Why this piece is awesome: Sorry I've been slow posting the rest of this month's art, due to being hammered by various deadlines, but here we go. This is Jaime and Brienne together, and I love the symbolism of Brienne being awash with light, and Jaime shadowed. Beautiful work, and there's also an amazing artwork of a wounded Brienne in the DA gallery.
