Why this piece is awesome: What a lovely piece illustrating the worry and care Gaius feels for Merlin. I particularly loved the style (the use of chalk pastels on black paper) and the effective use of shadowing. One of my favorite pieces to come out of Merlin Holidays last year.

This is so gorgeous! It gives me chills every time I look at it! <3 Just... idek... ALL THE FEELS! Merlin is just gorgeous. I could stare at him all day. I love the tilt of his head and his bright eyes! And his scarf of course!

And all the ruffles and petticoats! <3 And EEEEEE!!! his nipple peeking out of the top of the dress! <3 This is so sexy! I love the soft coloring style. Great lighting and shadow effects in the first panel and poor Merlin looks like a drowned rat XD The second is so sweet and romantic and their toes are so cute!

Why this piece is awesome: I'm so so so not a dark!content kind of person so I must admit I've not been planning to follow the Merlin Horror fest, but after this art I may be inclined to check it out to see if there are any other delights. I absolutely adore

mushroomtale and her art never disappoints. ♥ This was absolutely no exception! The composition of the piece is unique and well thought out. The color scheme is perfectly gruesome to suit the content. The entire thing from Merlin's unseeing eyes to the brokeness of Arthur's body language is amazing and powerful and so gorgeous despite the warnings and heartwrenching content.
Of course in my mind I've created a scenario where this actually ends happily... but that's just me :D you will of course have to decide for yourself.
