Why this piece is awesome: This is an especially scary looking Godzilla emerging from the sea - reminds me of "Alien" for some reason. I also like the distant (but not distant enough to be safe!) city lights in the background.

Why this piece is awesome: I confess that I haven't seen the movie Godzilla yet, so I have no idea about the plot - I just like monsters. What are the paratroopers doing? This has to be the most suicidal mission ever! Intriguing. Art-wise, I love the lighting effects from the red flares and the burning city below. Interesting angle too - you don't often see Godzilla from far above. Enlarge for the full awesomeness - in this one he's as big as a mountain. Literally.

I love the rain slanting down, the darkly blue sea, the spray and the flocks of tiny white seabirds, as though Godzilla's an island. As ever with the big guy, enlarge the art for the full effect.

Why this piece is awesome: It's 1st July where I am, so this is the month of Godzilla! Who is awesome. I seem to have a thing for giant lizards - first it was T-Rex, then Smaug, and now Godzilla. This artwork's great as the colours are so vibrant and the lighting effects are excellent. I really like the composition - enlarge it for the full effect.
