Why this piece is awesome: Jiujiu is very tired. Jin Ling helps! ♥ On one level this is very cute, but what really strikes me about it is Jiang Cheng's exhaustion. The misty lake outside the window creates a sense of isolation: they are the only two people in the world. I also really like the detail of the tortoise inkwell.

Why this piece is awesome: Book cover and interior illustrations for an imaginary novel written by Sizhui. Each piece is great on its own, but what I really love is how they all work together to form a coherent whole. I can imagine holding this book in my hand. The artist has done an amazing job of matching the aesthetic of the MDZS books, with great little in-universe details (like "Peony Publishing").

Why this piece is awesome: There are two pictures in this post (bonus!) and the first one is super cute, but I am here to talk about the second. It's a gorgeous portrait of the Twin Jades that emphasizes their association with light both symbolically and with the actual coloring and shading. Even the guqin strings and the delicate carvings on Liebing are catching the light.
