Why this piece is awesome: It's the Protector! Enlarge the image to the max and it's even better with the ship hurtling towards us, asteroid debris behind and the vastness of space all around. The radiant lines and distorted ellipsoid planet below add to the feeling of "warp" speed. I love the way fans spend ages digitally modeling spaceships so as to play with putting them in cool settings.

Why this piece is awesome: Well, awesome may be going a bit far, but hey - Tawney Madison's chest was awesome, and this celebrates that well known feature of the movie! The artist seems to like doing vector art of peoples' chests, but well, each to their own. Also I like the texturing and the colours. And believe me, compared to some of the versions of TM's chest out there, this is a model of propriety.

Why this piece is awesome: I'm reccing Galaxy Quest art this month (because, Galaxy Quest!). Don't expect it to be very highbrow - it's not that kind of fandom. :)  Happy Russia wanted to make a "proper" film poster as the originals (example here for comparison) emphasized the comedy aspect, and this is the result. It's still nicely over-dramatic and Tawney Madison's bust features prominently, which is as it should be. A good intro to my Galaxy Quest month, to set the scene.
