Why this piece is awesome: I really like this modern AU version of Hua Cheng and the perspective; it's digital art from a twitter RP account where all the art is meant to be candid photos taken by Hua Cheng or Xie Lian, so this piece has Hua Cheng in a very casual, relaxed pose (very in character) from the perspective of Xie Lian sitting across a small table from him in a coffee shop. Neat!

Why this piece is awesome: I like the perspective in this piece; this is the scene from the novel where Xie Lian meets San Lang riding in the back of an ox cart, but instead of doing a closeup of the two figures on the cart, the artist zooms out and shows the entire landscape, with mountains in the background. I also love the muddy red of the fall foliage (even the sun is red!).

Why this piece is awesome: This work explains why Hua Cheng made 10,000 statues of Xie Lian. With eyes downcast he seems like one of those European oil paintings of maidens preparing to bathe, very demure, caught in the act of undressing, only to reveal six pack abs! This rendering is 100% believable as his canon appearance, but he's usually fully dressed, so you don't see those muscles.

Why this piece is awesome: This is a beautiful visualization of an emotional scene from the novel in which Xie Lian (a fallen god) talks to a formless ghost (his follower), who says they won't ever forget him, but Xie Lian doesn't believe them. Xie Lian's despair is evident from his posture, and the ghost lantern lights and simplified dark background add to the moody atmosphere of this piece.
