Why this piece is awesome: I love this, it's such a rare subject for people to paint and it reminds me slightly of Michael Whelan's early work for the Elric of Menibone book covers.

Why this piece is awesome: This is actually part of a group of pictures the artist has made which extrapolates from Raziel's form as we know him in the games into what he could have evolved to if Kain hadn't thrown him into the Abyss. The colours of the piece are muted and moody, and lend an excellent feel of the dust and movement of a battlefield.

The design she's used for the future version of Raziel fits really well into the canon of the game set-up. The whole thing is an interesting take on what could have been.
