Why this piece is awesome: The piece has a nice sense of motion, with Wen Kexing seeming to have completed a dramatic and murderous sweep of his fan. I also like the silver hair strands and cloud of blood drops.

Why this piece is awesome: I have been staring at this for a week, and I know I need new glasses, but I can't decide how much of this painting is digital, or if any of it is; it has all these different textures, including the paper grain visible behind the nifty clouds of ink background. I also love the heavy use of black with just a few dabs of color. And Scorpion's hair is great.

Why this piece is awesome: It's a sketchy drawing of two characters looking at each other, but the added color gives the whole piece so much energy and cheer. The use of yellow makes the two figures glow, and the characters' poses contrast nicely--with Chengling uncomfortably folding in on himself and Gu Xiang smiling and looking relaxed.

Why this piece is awesome: This is a beautifully illustrated scene from the book's extras, using the drama's character and wardrobe designs. The matching pinks of Wen Kexing's robes and the blossoms are lovely, as is the overall slightly liquid effect. The out-of-focus background gives the scene depth.
