Why this piece is awesome: It was clear to me from the start that I wanted to bookend my recs with sandworm images :D One of the most fascinating aspects of DUNE is envisioning and bringing to life the towering size of the sandworms, and this artwork is a prime example. The reddish landscape contrasting with the cold lightning, and the veil of storm clouds, contribute to its mythical atmosphere.

Why this piece is awesome: Striking use of colour, interesting details in the clothing as well as the architecture, and teenage Alia looks regal and even threatening despite her casual posture. The artist says in the description, "I imagine somewhere between Children and Messiah when she is beginning to adopt her role as a religious figure among the Fremen."

Why this piece is awesome: I love the Yin/Yang composition in this and the overall flow. The colors chosen make for great contrast between the cold black-and-white of space and the warm sand tones of planet Arrakis. (It also makes me want a coffee.)
