Why this piece is awesome: I love the family group reminding me of the various scenes where we see velociraptors working/hunting together. Love the muted colors that are reminiscent of the older JP movies, with band markings to differentiate between each.

Why this piece is awesome: I like how this particular predator was shown as all cute and inquisitive when we first meet it... and then turned into your greatest nightmare! The art is superb. I love the texture of the skin, on the way the light has caught the dilophosaurus standing over its latest meal, and its all decay in the gloomy world beyond. Although this is not in the movie, I could imagine it as the dilophosaurus in one of the abandoned InGen facilities within the park.

Why this piece is awesome: Another iconic scene with Ellie berating John as they are eating melting ice cream. Despite the more cartoon style the faces are very expressive. I love the way John's spoon is raised, with all his attention on Ellie at her words. I love all the extra details in the background; the foliage, the dinosaur skeleton on the column.

Why this piece is awesome: It is very atmospheric with muted shafts of sunlight from rain darkened clouds lighting up the broken fence that the jungle is already starting to reclaim. The small figure of a man (Alan Grant perhaps) gives scale to the size of those fences and the massive creatures it kept enclosed until it all fell to pieces. I love the color scheme, of greens and blues.

Why this piece is awesome: So my Jurassic Park month is almost over, and as a finale, finally some proper dinosaurs. This pic's got some variety, with the big boy and a couple of velociraptors to boot. It looks a little staged but I like that - kind of like they're a particularly lethal vaudeville act prancing about in front of the main park gates. I love the perspective, and the purple mist. Very nicely done, anyway.
