Why this piece is awesome: One thing I loved about the first season of Elementary was its thread of control and vulnerability and negotiation of power dynamics - and this scene fits right into that. It's a rough sketch, but I love how clearly the characters are drawn, one of Joan's hands on Sherlock's head, while holding a steaming mug with the other.

Why this piece is awesome: One of the fun things about Elementary is that it's about 60% procedural, and 40% odd couple comedy. This has drawn in lots of artists with hilarious cartoon styles, producing lots of art that showcases Sherlock and Joan's adorable quirks and banter. Why this piece is awesome: The artist draws lots of lovely Joan and Sherlock portraits. This is a great dual example, with the characters' facial features distilled down into a strong but casual style. And though it may seem like a small thing, I always notice and appreciate when artists actually put in the effort towards drawing Joan as a woman of Asian descent, and not just a random, dark-haired OC.
