Why this piece is awesome: This is a lovely piece, very delicately done, of Anne Lister in a quiet, melancholy moment, Anne Walker's head cradled on her lap. The likenesses are excellent and the expression on Anne Lister's face is captured so well. Beautiful.

Why this piece is awesome: I'm very much enjoying this series, featuring the dashing Anne Lister, a wonderfully butch Yorkshire landowner who lived and loved in about 1800. This is an excellent portrait that really captures her strength and mischief.
