Starks and Reeds by Angela Rizza (SFW)
Fandom: Game of Thrones
Characters/Pairing/Other Subject: Bran, Jojen and the 3-eyed crow (Meera, Hodor, Osha and Rickon in the background, with Summer and Shaggydog)
Content Notes/Warnings: none
Medium: Traditional art, finished in photoshop ("a combination of traditional and digital. I did my drawing in black ink and added some texture and value with black water color. Then when I went to color it in photoshop, I added additional texture by putting a black and white high res image of a piece of paper with marks on it over everything and set that layer to overlay.painting.")
Artist on DW/LJ: n/a
Artist Website/Gallery: Angela Rizza on DA
Why this piece is awesome: I love this artist's work a lot - the coloring's rich but subdued, and the inkwork is a great mix of skill and quirkiness. The likenesses are excellent, and I especially like how huge and impressively "other" the direwolves are - when you read the books you know they're much bigger than normal wolves, but of course on TV they never manage to get them quite large enough. Enlarge the pic for all the details.
