Why this piece is awesome: One thing I loved about the first season of Elementary was its thread of control and vulnerability and negotiation of power dynamics - and this scene fits right into that. It's a rough sketch, but I love how clearly the characters are drawn, one of Joan's hands on Sherlock's head, while holding a steaming mug with the other.

That was totally what drew me into the show too!

I like how many things about Joan and Sherlock's dynamic are conveyed in that sketch. ;)

It was (is?) a fascinating part of it, that's for sure. Loved that. And I think I saw this particular piece of art shortly after The Rat Race, where Sherlock keeps practicing how to get out of handcuffs at the end because he hated to have lost control to the villain of the week during the episode - and it all just fit.

This is where I have to admit that I quit the show a little after S4 started.

Regardless, up until I stopped watching, there were lots of moments that totally read to me as gentle!femdom. #YMMVofcourse :)
