In The Cold Floor by MariaMarcuu (NSFW)

Fandom: Penguins of Madagascar

Characters/Pairing/Other Subject: Skipper/Kowalski

Content Notes/Warnings: Slash; the artist has an extensive gallery on furaffinity and goes by DingoTs there, which requires membership to view some accounts. On deviantArt, the link to the piece below requires being logged into dA because of mature content.

Medium: Digital art, color

Artist Website/Gallery: deviantArt Gallery

Why this piece is awesome: In the numerous slashy 'ships of the fandom, MariaMarcuu favors KowalSkip (Kowalski x Skipper) so this piece shows the two penguins enjoying sex on the cold floor of their HQ. One of the perks of writing or drawing cartoon animals is that depicting bird sex goes waaaaay beyond the real life act, which is over with in fifteen seconds or so although courtship can last hours, sometimes days. I used to raise birds and pitied them for this, though there is also the fact that they can do it several times daily, so you know, there's that. :)

Could you make a note that this is locked to dA users for its mature content? This is only explained in the FAQs (numbers 6), but while linking locked fanart on sites or archives with open membership is okay (unlike linking f-locked content) to prevent potential frustration when people click, reccers should note in their rec that the link requires being logged into a service. Thanks!

Thanks! Considering the artist labeled it mature it's best to go with their rating and evaluation. BTW if an artist gives a rating, like "mature content" or such, you can go with that in the rec's subject line too, you don't have to use the N/SFW distinction, that is just what I consider the easiest if minimal guidance compared to various ratings. I have a bit of a hard time judging those, since ratings in my country work really differently from the US.

For the purpose of this comm I consider art NSFW if it contains explicit sex acts or full nudity or is clearly meant to be porn even if you don't see genitals or sex acts depicted (like sexual fetish or bondage scenes or such). Also NSFW I consider extreme graphic depictions in art with disturbing content (like depictions of violence or injuries that have gore, especially if realistic and not cartoon styles, e.g. somebody realistically crushed by an anvil rather than a cartoon hit by one).

FWIW, when I have posted fanart myself I have considered two naked guys in bed cuddling and kissing with no visible genitals to be PG-13, though on the NSFW divide I got comments that considered it NSFW because of the US complex about nudity...

I try to gauge whether I would feel awkward to have the picture on my screen in a public library if someone walks by and looks at me looking at that.
