Why this piece is awesome: This is a lovely depiction of the Valley in winter. So gentle and peaceful in mood. I love the aurora-like blue and blue-green colours, the white glimmer of the snow, and the dusty shimmer of the slowly falling snow over everything.

I haven't watched it at all, I really dislike the modern version of the characters, everything is so slick and streamlined. I so much prefer the original books and their illustrations.

Slick and streamlined, exactly! All the charm and character has gone out of it. That's not for me either.
