Why this piece is awesome: It illustrates the differences and similarities between the two Chekovs so well! Old!Chekov with his almost frenetic Monkees-moptop cutesiness and campy Russian caricature, every action overstated in keeping with the show; nu!Chekov kind of dreamy and spun-sugar sweet, thoughtful and contained and authentically Russian. The blotty storybook artwork makes their postures and looks even more effective.

Why this piece is awesome: Here's a realistically done piece that really draws you in...the focus is on the eyes (in this case, looking a bit demonish since it portrays Naruto under the control of the Nine-Tailed Fox). There's just so much going on here; the eyes are just mesmerizing.

Looking for reccers for upcoming months

There are still some days left in June, but it's time for our regular reccer recruiting post, and to look ahead to the next month. So far we have already six volunteer reccers who signed up for July with these fandoms:

* Vocaloid (snowynight)

So we already have some recs too look forward to in July, but there is still plenty of opportunity for you to jump in and volunteer to rec next month (or to convince your friends to do some reccing). Many cheers though for all of our members who volunteer to rec, especially if you rec regularly.

Looking even further ahead so far only one reccer has volunteered for August, so that month could use some love (and recs! *g*) too. So please consider reccing in a fandom of your choice, whether small or huge, and comment on the sign-up post and volunteer for July, August or even further ahead if you are so well organized, that you know your fannish interests and time commitments in advance. It's only four recs as a minimum, and you can rec any genre or rating. Or promote us to your friends or in your favorite communities so others do the work.

Why this piece is awesome: Previews for graphic novels are very frustrating when you can't read the rest of it, especially if they end in a cliffhanger. But sometimes it's worth it, like here with the four pages of the SGA graphic novel "Red in Tooth and Claw". I'd buy it immediately: for the expressions, the dark colors, the great Wraith queen, and the story.
