Why this piece is awesome: My last rec for the month is a picture by an artist that I've recced already this month, but I just thought it fit really well to Halloween. It's an illustration for a Sherlock AU set in Neil Gaiman's A Study in Emerald, which if you haven't read yet you should go do so right now - it's freely available online. I love the way the ViaEstelar evokes a really creepy atmosphere with just the green-lit street and the red-lit buildings, and then you look closer and see the tentacles curling over the side of the wall, and the glowing green eyes looking out from the arch in the background...

Why this piece is awesome: Well, awesome would be going a bit far but it's...either cute or kind of horrifying, i can't decide which. I like it because it's unsettling, even though I think it was meant to be fluffy.  I particularly like his tail, and the tufts on his ears.
Anyway, a bit of silliness to end my White Collar month. I'll be back with some more from this fandom in a few months.

Why this piece is awesome: Summary: Sometimes the darkness follows you home... Astrid does fabulous comics, and this one uses light and darkness to screw with the readers' sense of reality and dream, and of where the horror really lies. (Also, Teyla as a child is utterly adorable, as well as heart-breaking). I love how panels are layered on top of the background images to give a sense of nightmare (or is it reality??) bleeding in, and how action and emotion flow between the panels.
