Artist Website/Gallery: Nicolas Delort's blog
Why this piece is awesome: This artist does the most AMAZING ink-work and has a penchant for skewing the angle of scenes for added drama (there's a name for that;I forget it canted angles or the Dutch tilt - but that's in film). This illustration is one he did, then developed into a larger, slightly less dramatic work which was entered in The Book Show (I'll link to both). See the notes in his blog around the initial work, re who the characters are. On either work, if you R-click to open the work in a new tab you can then enlarge to see the inking detail - which is incredible.
Link: Vigil (the 2nd pic on this page - this is the more dramatic piece he decided he didn't like as much - I love it) and the main piece submitted is You Will Hold My Vigil
