Why this piece is awesome: It's a visceral image of Mega Banette using the move Curse. (Banette's a ghost-type puppet pokemon and Curse is move where the pokemon takes away some of their own HP. The game animations use a nail, but this piece uses a needle.)

I like how the bright pink stuffing brings gore to mind but it's not actually that gory. I like how drastic a move it is, yet Banette is still grinning with its golden zipper mouth. The frayed wispyness of some parts of its body are also a great detail.

Why this piece is awesome: This is a lovely, sensitive drawing of Ray Vecchio - the artist says it was initially done more as a portrait of David Marciano, but agrees that it could be an older, happier Ray Vecchio, well after his time in Vegas. I like his cool hat and twinkling eyes.
