Why this piece is awesome: It's Art Nouveau Cobb and Mal! I love how this piece combines the framing and drawing conventions of Art Nouveau with a distinctly more personal style of character design and expression. I love Mal's face especially. Beautiful!

Why this piece is awesome: If there is one Inception crossover that deserves to exist above all the others, it has to be this one. The idea that Limbo is in fact the Dreaming, and that Morpheus is there to welcome Saito is just perfect. The drawing style is beautiful, all soft colours and dynamic outlines (Daniel's hair is drawn like the clouds!) and I love, love, love the angles and composition of the last three frames. A truly wonderful work.

Why this piece is awesome: I'm sorry? I have to justify the awesomeness of this piece? Is it not readily apparent? This is just the cutest thing in the world, from the blue PASIV strings, to Cobb's pointy beard, to Eames' smile, to Arthur's adorable frowny face. I love it to bits.

Why this piece is awesome: Well, aside from the fact that it was drawn for a gyzym fic, I've always loved how onthecount draws faces. They look so delicate and boyish somehow, add to that flour on Arthur's face and Ariadne smiling at the boys indulgently in the background, and I can stare at this for hours!

Why this piece is awesome: I wish I can offer more about this artist or more samples of his work, but as 'Eames and Arthur' is the only fan art in his gallery and no links are given otherwise, we can only guess and hope for more. I like how quiet this piece is, we don't even see Arthur's face and both of them are looking away from each other, but the quietness adds to the tension somehow. Also, this is probably one of my most favourite depiction of Eames ever.

Why this piece is awesome: Anything can happen in dreamspace, and this collaboration between two talented ladies explores that to mind-blowing possibilities. I love the use of mainly dark, earth colours for this one, which makes the over-all look soft, intimate and very hot.

Why this piece is awesome: I first saw visualcomplex's art at the holiday_heist and fell in love with her work instantly. I love how she uses colours, and their muted quality gives her work a vintage feel. Why these pieces are awesome: I love this artist's work so much! The cartoonish yet so very expressive style, the collage-like rendering, I love it all! Arthur putting on a shirt is probably my favorite piece, both for the composition and for Arthur's delightful smirk! All of her work is worth at look, especially if you ship Arthur and Eames.

Why these pieces are awesome: I love these pieces so much! Ariadne is the most interesting in terms of colours. I love the way the red draws and directs your eyes along her body and towards her hands. Arthur and Eames' portraits are very striking too, taking full advantage of the dramatic contrasts in lighting. While the maze feels a bit less cohesive to me as a whole, I love the concept of the piece and the subtlety of the colour palette. A very beautiful set of paintings.

Why this piece is awesome: It's Yusuf! Opened-shirt!Yusuf, no less! There is so little Yusuf love in Inception fanart, and it is a right shame. I love the cocky assurance of the pose here, and the little details like the atom tattoo. You should take the time to read the artist's reasoning behind Yusuf's totem, it's brilliant!

Why these pieces are awesome: Ok, time to get shippy!!! :D
Marika has done a series of Arthur/Eames pieces, all of which I adore. All of them are digital paintings with very clean vector work and flawless use of references, but I've singled out three of them that show the range of her skills. I love Chillin' for the intimacy of the pose contrasted with the boldness of the colour used. The play in lineweights in Too much dreaming, daaarrling is just fantastic, beautifully styled like an old school architectural rendering. Trip shows off Marika's skills with colours and textures. The realism of their faces is particularly well done, a mix of outlines and shading, which I love. Really though, all of her Inception pieces are worth a look, as is the rest of her extensive gallery.

Why this piece is awesome: THE INCEPTION CAST AS PONIES. Need I say more? These are all so very expressive and, as with

pen_pistola's posters, manage to define each characters with just a few props and details. Technically, I love the clean black outlines and the coloured crayon work on their manes. Very children's book like. Beyond all that though, these are all just too adorable not to rec.

Why this piece is awesome: Why not kick off this series of recs with a great introduction to each of the movie's characters? pen_pistola had been making her way through the cast for months now, and the results are amazing. Inspired by Saul Bass' iconic poster style, she's managed to illustrate each of the character's role in the movie.
I love Arthur's piece, and how the hommage to the Vertigo poster is so very perfect for Inception. I love the reflection in the water in Cobb's piece. I love the perspective and the stylized raindrops in Yusuf's. Ariadne as a conductor/architect is just awesome. I love the innocence in Fisher's poster, carried through right down to the choice of font. I absolutely love the composition of Eames' poster and the epicness of Saito's. Mal's piece is appropriately disturbing and beautifully rendered.
Overall, the graphic design nerd in me is just in love with the whole series.
