Why this piece is awesome: I love pretty much everything this artist does. I first found them through Doctor Who but it's in the fairytale and fantasy inspired works they really shine. Their skillful use of coloured pencils gives a wonderfully luminous quality to the rich, jewel-like colours of their works, greatly helped by the coloured and textured paper they often use.

This particular work is probably my favourite of theirs. The warmth and cozyness between Mumintrollet & Snusmumriken at their camp fire, the blue depths of the forest, and the twinkling of the stars among the branches, it all adds up to a deeply lyrical work. Full of magic.
